Opposition leader and state congress president disagree while taking MLAs to Jaipur

Gandhinagar, 15 March 2020

When the BJP started trying to contacts the Congress MLAs, the Congress leaders were considering taking Gujarat out. At that time, there were huge differences between the top leaders. Opposition leader Paresh Dhanani wanted MLAs to be taken to Madhya Pradesh. Since he have good relations with the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the MLAs of Gujarat should be safe there. But Congress MLAs and state presidents Amit Chawda and candidate  Bharat Solanki wanted the MLAs to be taken to Rajasthan.

Thus there was a lot of rift between the opposition leader and the region president. There was intense conversation. But eventually the president of the state, Amit Chawda, was considered, but the leader of the opposition did not. In fact, when it comes to the Legislature, the decision of what the Leader of the Opposition says is valid. But the president considered Rajasthan the safest.

Legislators from Gujarat have been kept at the Tree Resort of Jaipur and Buena Vista.

As the Bharat Solanki feared defeat, all the MLAs, led by Gandhinagar North MLA CJ Chawda, were taken to Rajasthan. Legislators include Ganiben Thakor, Gulab Singh Rajput, Lakha Bharwad, Harshad Ribadia, Hrithiv Makwana, Ajit Singh Chauhan, Chandanji Thakor, Pradyuman Singh Jadeja, Chirag Kalariya, Himmat Singh Bhajatha Jhamantha Jhamatsha Pathajana, Gujarat.

It is noteworthy that the Gujarat Congress fears that the BJP may cross-vote by giving economic incentives to Congress MLAs. Earlier in 2017, the Congress also took the MLAs to the Bangalore resort. However, only a few Congress MLAs are in Gujarat.
