Patients will get cashless treatments up to Rs. 5-lakh at 2600 hospitals in Gujarat

Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today categorically stated that the state government is determined to provide healthy and long life to all of its citizens by covering them under world’s biggest health insurance scheme ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojna’ (ABY) launched by Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a mega camp organized by the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) at Rajkot. The camp has provided health insurance cover to approximately 500,000 people of 96,000 families of the city.
Mr. Rupani termed the ABY as the new sunrise of the health for the people of Rajkot city. At the national level the ABY is covering 50-crore citizens. Under the ABY the cashless medical facilities up to Rs. 5-lakh will be made available at 2600 hospitals across Gujarat, including 25 hospitals of Rajkot.
The Chief Minister further stated that his government has ensured that poor patients not getting deprived of medical facilities because of lack of money. A system has been setup to ensure the good use of tax-payers’ money.
Those who spoke on the occasion, included city mayor Mrs. Binaben Acharya, RMC Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Udaybhai Kangad, Municipal Commissioner Mr. B. N. Pani and others. On the occasion, Chief Minister had distributed ‘Health Card’ to the beneficiaries and interacted with them.
The event was graced by Member of Parliament Mr. Mohanbhai Kundariya, MLAs Mr. Govindbhai Patel and Mr. Lakhabhai Sagathiya, BJP leader Mr. Nitinbhai Bhardwaj, Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Chairman Mr. Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi, city BJP president Mr. Kamleshbhai Mirani, city’s deputy mayor Mr. Ashwinbhai Moliya, BJP Mahila Morcha’s in-charge Mrs. Anjaliben Rupani, and others.
