21,090 students and 1,500 teachers from 150 schools had registered to sing

Ahmedabad, Friday: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today inaugurated a Rashtriya Ekta Vidyarthi Carnival-2020, organised by Self-Financed School Managements Association at Racecourse-Ring Road, as part of the state-level Republic Day function being held this year at Rajkot.

He also inaugurated permanent street lighting put up by Rajkot Municipal Corporation on the Ring Road.

Over 5,000 students from 31 schools presented cultural functions from 29 States and Union Territories of India on different themes of ‘Ek Bharat; Shrestha Bharat’ from 31 stages.

Mr. Rupani had glimpse of the cultural events from an open jeep. He joined the students singing in chorus the patriotic song ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha Hindurstan Hamara’.

It may be mentioned that 21,000 students, including physically challenged ones, and 150 teachers from 150 schools had registered to sing patriotic songs in chorus, in a bid to create a world record.

Those present on the occasion included Member or Parliament Mohanbhai Kundariya, Mayor Binaben Acharya, MLAs Govindbhai Patel, Arvindbhai Raiyani, Lakhabhai Sagathiya, prominent citizens Anjaliben Rupani, Kamleshbhai Mirani, Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Chairman Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi, prominent citizens Nitinbhai Bhardwaj D.V. Mehta, Deputy Mayor Ashwinbhai Moliya, Collector Remya Mohan and Municipal Commissioner Udit Agrawal.
