Resident Additional Collector and two others suspended for transferring 800 acres of government land of Chotila taluka for false interpretation of ALC
Gandhinagar, Thursday: In a past case of irregularities found in transfer of over 800 acres of government land at Bamanbor and Jivapar in Chotila taluka in Surendranagar district under Agricultural Land Ceiling (ALC) Act, Gujarat Government has suspended from duty the then Resident Additional Collector Chandrakant Pandya, Deputy Collector V.Z. Chauhan and In-charge Mamlatdar J.L. Ghadvi with immediate effect.
The case has been handed over to the ACB as also Departmental Inquiry has been ordered with direction to take exemplary strict action against the officials.
It has been found that the said Mamlatdar and Krishi Panch had shown government land as surplus agricultural land by false interpretation of the amendment in the Act: 2/1974 of the ALC Act 1960 to private persons on November 11, 1988.
In involves 324 acres of two plots at Bamanbor and 528 acres of three plots at Bamanbor transferred to private persons through sales deeds.
While Mr. Pandya at present holds the post of General Manager in Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd and Mr. Chauhan the post Deputy District Development Officer at Porbandar.
