Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Gujarat on a day’s visit on Thursday, August 23 to attend various functions at Valsad, Junagadh and Gandhinagar. Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel will accompany him during the visit.
Modi is scheduled to depart from New Delhi by Air Force Plane to arrive at Surat airport at 10.15 am, reach Valsad district town at 10.50 pm and Jujuva village by 11.00 am to inaugurate 1,15,551 residential units under Prime Minister’s Awas Yojna-Gramin and perform mass e-Grih entry ceremony.
He will next distribute appointment letters under Mukhya Mantri Gramoday Yojna to 5,000 women for joining industries, and skill certificates to trainees under Deendayal Upadhyay Kaushalya Yojna. He will perform ground breaking ceremony of Rs.586-crore Astol group drinking water supply scheme for the villages in the interior areas of Dharampur and Kaprada areas. He will address a public meeting there.
Modi will leave Valsad at 12.30 pm to reach Junagadh Police Training College at 2.25 pm. He will inaugurate newly built 300-bed Civil Hospital built at a cost of Rs.275-crore, Polytechnic in Agro Processing Building at Junagadh Agriculture University, Girls Hostel for new Fisheries College and new Milk Processing Plant of the Sorath Distrit Cooperative Milk Producers Union. He will also lay stones and inaugurate different development works worth Rs.450-crore for Junagadh, before addressing a public meeting at Junagadh.
Later in the evening, he will deliver the convocation address at Gujarat Forensic Sciences University at Gandhinagar and distribute medals to meritorious students at 6 pm.
Modi will attend the Somnath Trust meeting at th Rajbhawan in Gandhinagar at 7.30 pm, start for airport at 8.30 pm and board the Air Force Plane at 9 pm to fly back to New Delhi.
