Rebellion in BJP in Vadodara Cooperative Union, Congress loses

All 19 directors were elected unopposed during the election of Vadodara District Cooperative Union, which is associated with milk societies and cooperative societies of Vadodara and Chhotaudepur districts. But there was a rebellion in electing the President.

Voting against the mandate of the BJP, Pravinbhai was elected President and Kaushikbhai Vice President on 4 October 2024.

There was a rebellion in the Vadodara District Cooperative Union election. The BJP nominated President-Vice President got only 6 out of 19 votes. Congress leader and Ahmedabad spokesperson happy despite Congress’s defeat.

On 4 October 2024, there was a rebellion after all 19 directors were elected unopposed for the election of Vice President in the District Cooperative Committee of Vadodara and Chhotaudepur districts.

BJP’s rebel candidate Pravin Mani Patel won. BJP gave the mandate of victory to Mukesh Jashwant Patel for the post of president. BJP’s candidate lost. The rebels won by 16 votes. Atul Patel was declared unopposed as the representative of the state cooperative union.

BJP fielded Chandrakan Parsottam Patel for the post of vice-president, who was defeated by rebel Kaushik Manhar Patel.

Uneasiness has increased in BJP. Ever since the announcement of the election, there has been a dispute over the appointment of collective voters.

Congress had a chance to win. But the leaderless Congress is happy despite its defeat. Such a situation is not only for Congress, BJP has also lost its way. Now the leaders are rebelling. He said that after BJP made the cooperative a political base, now it has become an institution earning profits of crores and committing scams instead of cooperatives.

Bharatiya Janata Party listened to the directors as soon as the election of president and vice-president was done. Most of the directors were in favor of outgoing president Praveen Mani Patel. But due to internal factionalism in the BJP, the state Mavdi Mandal gave the post of president to Mukesh Patel of Chhotaudepur and vice-president to Chandrakant Patel of Saadhi.

While former chairman of Central Bank of Baroda Atul Patel was elected to the post of director of the state cooperative union, Ritesh Patel was elected unopposed to the post of minister and joint minister.
