Chief Minister announces a Rs 200 cr new bridge near Ubhrat
Gandhinagar, Saturday: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today congratulated the office bearers and officers of Surat for bringing many laurels and awards to the city, setting an example in development works for the rest of the state.
He dedicated and laid foundation stones of development works worth Rs. 514.15 crore, including Rs.431.32 crore for Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and Rs 82.83 crore for Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA), despite difficulties faced due to global pandemic novel coronavirus.
They include Suman High Schools Reading Room at Varachha Road and Rander, working women hostel, EWS, etc under NRCP, PMAY, Limbayat Dindoli underpass, primary school, overhead tank, anganwadi, community hall foundation laying.
Mr Rupani also announced a Rs 200 crore new bridge near Ubhrat to connect Khajod dreamcity, Dumas, Magdalla, Sultanabad, Maroli, Bhimpor villages to herald faster development of Surat.
Speaking at a function at Sanjiv Kumar Auditorium at Surat, he said that SMC has witnessed multifaceted development in the forms of dreamcity, smart city, bridge city, creating basic civic amenities like gutter, water, housing, health, solid waste development, recycling waste water, tertiary water plant to maintain ecological balance, setting an example of best livable city before the nation.
He said the State Government has delivered transparent and corruption free governance with maximum application of technology, online NA, permission for buildings, approving TP DP plans.
Giving details of development works at the hands of Prime Minister during the last six months, the Chief Minister listed Suryodaya Yojna for daytime electricity to farmers, assorted attractions near Statue of Unity, seaplane, Girnar Ropeway, Hajira Ropex Ferry, etc,
