BJP in-charge and state co-treasurer in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Dharmendra Shah was expelled from both the posts on 20 July 2024. BJP President C.R. Patel was suddenly removed from the post. Former Minister of State for Home and State Chief Minister Rajni Patel was appointed as the new in-charge of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
Many information is coming out about why he was removed from the post. Its secrets are being revealed. The biggest secret revealed was that Dharmendra Shah was brought in place of Narendra Modi’s close aide and BJP co-president Parindu Bhagat alias Kakubhai with the consent of Narendra Modi. Home Minister Amit Shah also recommended it. Because Modi, Amit Shah and Kakubhai somehow had the support of Dharmendra Shah to eliminate Surendra Patel, BJP’s loyal treasurer. Before Surendra Patel, Prahlad Patel and Natwarlala Patel were the treasurers of BJP. At one time, the party had considered making Surendra Patel the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Also, Narendra Modi had taken help from Surendra Kakani during the Kutch earthquake.
2 percent commission

The opposition alleges that during the reign of Dharmendra Shah, who sits in the mayor’s opposition chamber, corruption of more than Rs. 500 crore is being talked about. No contract was passed without the commission as he had more power than the commissioner and the mayor.

The opposition leaders have demanded an impartial investigation of all the works approved during Dharmendra Shah’s reign. Congress has accused Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s BJP in-charge Dharmendra Shah of committing corruption of more than 500 crores while sitting in the anti-chamber of the Mayor’s office.

A bribe of Rs. 50 lakhs was demanded in Ampa. A judicial inquiry was demanded to find out who all had connections with Harshad Bhojak who was caught red handed taking a bribe of Rs. 20 lakhs.
