– 333 passengers are upset due to closure of ferry service due to low water in the canal.

Due to rise in water level due to high tide, the ship stranded 0.8 nautical miles away from Ghogha reached Ghogha Ghat.

Bhavnagar: The Ghogha-Dahej Ro-Pax ferry service, started to bridge the geographical gap between Saurashtra and South Gujarat, came to a halt again today at some distance from the sea coast of Ghogha. After three months, the Ro-Pax ferry service has once again come to a standstill in the middle of the sea. Earlier in November, the Ro-Pax boat got stuck in sea mud half a kilometer away from Ghogha beach. After which today again it has come to a halt. After about 3 hours of struggle the ship came out.
The Ro-Pax ferry service ship coming from Dahej to Ghogha entered the Ghogha channel at 12 noon today. At 12.18 pm, the ship full of passengers got stuck in the sea and the passengers got worried. The ship ran aground near the turning circle in the middle channel of Ghoghani. On the other hand, the operation to evacuate the ship has been started by the agency. Arrangements were made to send a tug immediately after the Ro-Pax ferry service was suspended and passengers were informed. On the other hand, operations to relaunch the ship were started. The Ropax ferry service ship coming from Dahej to Ghogha had 333 passengers and 180 vehicles. Which remained stuck in the sea away from the Ghogha coast for about three and a half hours. However, the Ro-Pax ferry service was canceled again later at 3.02 pm. It is reported that due to low water flow, Ro-Ro ferry ships get stuck like this from time to time. Earlier, on November 23 at 5.30 pm, Ro-Ro ferry Savas going to Dahej got stuck in mud half a kilometer away from the beach of Ghogha. At that time there were about 500 passengers and about 50 vehicles in the ship, which remained stranded for two hours. Ghogha Dahej Ro-Ro ferry service is emerging as an important transport option bridging the distance between South Gujarat and Saurashtra, but if such Ro-Ro ferries continue to be closed frequently, their reliability will be affected.
