Gujarat hospital emergency service 108 has seen a 15 percent increase in phone calls for heart problems in a year. From January to July 2024, 47,180 cases of heart problems were reported in the state. In 2023, 40,258 cases were reported during this period.

Due to this, the heart muscle has to work harder to pump oxygenated blood. This can have a direct effect on the heart tissue. The heart rate may increase, which can reduce the heart’s ability to pump blood. Difficulty may increase for those who already have any such disease. In Ahmedabad, 13,906 people have had heart related problems in the last 7 months. Due to this condition, an average of 66 people face heart related problems every day in Ahmedabad.
