There has been a steady increase in complaints related to roads and buildings from 2021 to 2025. This is the result of widespread road and bridge corruption that started during the Vijay Rupani government. The government started this service when the complaints increased and in 2021 the government received 30 thousand complaints on WhatsApp.
Patil and Patel did not like the messaging service started by Purnesh Modi to solve the problems of the people. Therefore, they were removed from the government itself. In July 2021 and 22, the Road and Building Minister started online work to receive complaints of road breakdowns during the monsoon.
In 2021, the Road and Building Minister received 30 thousand complaints. 22 thousand complaints were settled and patchwork was done on the roads. Initially about 7 thousand complaints were received. Even on normal days, 1500 complaints are received daily.
The highest number of complaints are from Jamnagar, Amreli, Rajkot and Junagadh districts.
Most of the damaged roads are liability roads. Hence there is no financial loss to the government.
Since there were elections on 1 October 2021, a road repair drive had to be carried out.
The condition of the national highways passing through Samakhiali-Palanpur, Bhavnagar-Somnath-Dwarka and Ahmedabad-Himmatnagar in Gujarat is very bad. Due to the poor condition of National Highway No. 8 alone, three to four serious accidents occur every week. In which on an average five people die every day. Does the BJP government in the state not care about the plight and deaths in accidents?
The Gujarat government is afraid of the Narendra Modi government at the Center, so it cannot say or write a word for the repair of national highways in Gujarat.
In 2022, the minister launched the “Purnesh Modi” app in his own name. The responsibility of the elected branches and officials in the Mahanagar Palikas, Nagar Palikas and Panchayats is for broken bridges and roads. The bridge inaugurated by Purnesh Modi in Bharuch district broke down. Therefore, this app should be for private marketing and should be of the government. The government is not working. The ministers do not trust their own system. No one takes responsibility for why bridges or roads break down. In other countries, bridges do not break down like this.
The government is doing bridge and road work everywhere to solve traffic problems and provide facilities to the people. But the work of newly built bridges is falling short at some places in the state.
Was the bridge work weak?
Was there corruption in the bridge work?
Why was the contract given to a company that was performing poorly?
Is there a nexus between big leaders and the contractor?
Was the contract given to Ranjit Buildcon Company on the recommendation of any leader?
Is even the raw work given to a company that seems interested in the contract?
Many complaints
As soon as the rains come in the state, the reality of the work and arrangements of bridges and roads is exposed. The roads get washed away and the condition of the bridges worsens. Many complaints come. The minister received 30 thousand complaints on WhatsApp in a year. Since the embankment is built on pebbles and stones, every incident or complaint was a pebble in the form of corruption. Due to which a mountain of pebbles and stones of corruption was formed. Kundu should not even be touched.
Questions are also being raised on the quality of bridges in Gujarat. Third party experts are not investigating. 140 people died due to the collapse of a cable bridge in Morbi. 400 people fell into the Machhu river. Corruption was alleged behind the collapse of the bridge. There is an atmosphere of concern in Gujarat.
Carrying heavy goods by multi-axle vehicles is more responsible.
The tragic death of many people due to the collapse of a suspension bridge in Morbi has caused a lot of grief. Even small children are dying in this serious accident. The long and old bridge has taken the lives of countless people by falling into the deep river. There is a lot of anger among the people against this gross negligence of the administration.
Since the bridge becomes weak before the stipulated time limit, vehicles are being driven on it risking the lives of people.
The government is wasting crores of rupees of the public in the name of development. At many places, people have started turning saffron.
When heavy trucks pass through this bridge, it breaks. Heavy torus trucks pass through this bridge. Heavy commercial vehicles, multi-axle vehicles, luxury buses, Volvo buses and vehicles more than 2.5 meters high also pass through this bridge.
The RCC of big bridges has a life of 35 to 40 years.
Heavy rains during monsoon expose the fake construction of this bridge. Despite repeated demands for investigation of the fraudulent construction of this bridge and action against the contractors and agencies, no action has been taken in this matter as if it were a wet land. Due to soft view on the contractor, despite the weak bridge, no action is taken against his contractor.
Recently, the collapse of Morbi bridge and two flyovers and many drain bridges in Gujarat is serious. Something terrible can happen in Gujarat in the coming days. The company which built the Bhagalpur bridge has been given contracts worth thousands of crores of rupees for two bridges and Surat metro stations in Gujarat.
