The state’s tallest collector office building is missing
22 December 2024
The khatmuhurat was done in October 2022 by the state’s Revenue and Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Even after that, not a single brick was laid in the work of this office. The Roads and Buildings Department raised objections against the private architect. The modern design was rejected.
The Roads and Buildings Department has made changes to make the Collector Office of Surat hi-tech or corporate. The design of any private architect is not approved. A new box type low floor office will have to be built according to the design of the government system.
Worked hard for the design of a multi-storey office building with a high-tech design including basement. The Roads and Buildings Department had objected to two basements. Barely got approval. This file was lying in the RND department for a long time.
Earlier the collector office was built in Athwalines. Which was in dilapidated condition. Then in 2012, it started in Athwalines. This office was also on rent.
Collector Dr. Dhaval Patel occupied the government land near Vasram Bharwad and acquired 10 thousand square meters of land for the new collector’s office.
Collector Ayush Oak had shown the dream of building the tallest building in the state at a cost of Rs. 30 crore.
SUDA, including Surat Municipal Corporation and District Panchayat, constructed the building on their own, but the Collector’s Office has been occupied by government officials. The Road Construction Department is preparing the land for the new District Collector’s Office in Surat city. According to reliable sources, the Road Construction Department has rejected the design of an outside private architect. Due to which a dispute has started.
A new luxurious SUDA building has been built in Vesu. Apart from this, a new District Panchayat building has also been constructed in Vesu. And now a 41-storey new Municipal Corporation office is being built on the land of the sub-jail. In such a situation, Surat Collectorate itself is falling prey to the old design mentality of government officials.
14-storey building will not be seen
Only time will tell whether Surat will now get to see a hi-tech collector office to satisfy the ego of the officials of the Road Construction Department. But the design prepared by the then Collector Ayush Oak had a 14-storey building. Keeping in mind the environmental objectives, the green building concept was decided. Along with this, arrangements for solar panels and double basement were also made. Now only time will tell what kind of office the engineers of the road construction department will build.
The suspension of Valsad Collector Ayush Oak by the state government on charges of land scam during his tenure as Surat Collector has created panic among government officials. IAS officer suspended in Dumas land scam Valsad Collector Ayush Oak has been suspended in the 2000 crore land scam case. Congress leader Tushar Chaudhary has alleged that 2.17 lakh square meters of land in Dumas area was registered in the name of Gantiya and two thousand crore rupees were embezzled.
2,17,216 square meters worth Rs 2,000 crore in Dumas, Surat. The scam of allotment of government land to builders came to light. In which the name of Collector Ayush Oak came up and he was replaced. However, before the transfer, he had signed some controversial orders. This also includes the scam of defrauding builders of government land.
The government immediately obtained an injunction from the Revenue Secretary in the conspiracy to seize Dumas land from the builders. At that time, there was a lot of discussion in the revenue circles of Surat that some big political head of BJP was behind Ayush Oak’s decision to take government land survey.
