Various 56 allied health care courses were included in the recognized category of 10 courses
• 4 boards will be formed under this council, which will control the quality of education etc.
(1) Undergraduate Allied and Healthcare Education Board
(2) Post Graduate Allied and Healthcare Education Board,
(3) Allied and Healthcare Professions Assessment and Rating Board,
(4) Allied and Healthcare Professions Ethics and Registration Board

Continuous efforts have been made to ensure that every citizen of the state gets the best quality treatment and medical education gets momentum. Under which 15 members of the State Allied and Healthcare Council have been appointed by the state government.
By appointing 15 members in this council, the state government has tried to regulate the standards and quality of medical education in the state. For which 4 boards will also be formed under this council.
(1) Under Graduate Allied and Healthcare Education Board and (2) Post Graduate Allied and Healthcare Education Board shall determine the standards of allied and healthcare education at undergraduate, postgraduate and super specialty levels, review faculty development, approve educational qualification courses and grant approval of allied and healthcare professionals
(3) Allied and Healthcare Professions Assessment and Rating Board shall determine the assessment and rating of allied and healthcare institutions by arranging inspection of institutions by the Allied and Healthcare Professions Assessment and Rating Board to ensure that minimum required standards are maintained, approve establishment and seating capacity for new allied and healthcare institutions, form a panel of inspectors, warn of penalties, withdraw recognition of institution and recommend and perform any other function assigned by the State Council.
(4) Allied and Healthcare Professions Ethics and Registration Board shall maintain an online and live State Register of all allied healthcare professionals in the State, regulate professional conduct and promote policy and perform other functions assigned by the State Council.
It is noteworthy that at present allied health science courses like 4810 seats of Physiotherapy, 310 seats of Optometry, 10 seats of Occupational Therapy, 10 seats of Prosthetics are available in the state. Apart from this, many other graduate and post graduate paramedical courses are also running in the state.
Out of which Physiotherapy Council has been constituted to regulate the physiotherapy course. While other paramedical courses are regulated by that university.
The “National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professionals” has been constituted by the Government of India on 28/03/2021. Which is the apex body regulating all allied health care courses across India. So far 14 states in India have constituted State Allied and Health Care Councils.
15 members of the State Allied and Healthcare Council have been appointed in the state by the notification dated 20/12/2024 by the State Government today.
Earlier, the rules of this council have been published by notification dated 26/11/2024. The recognition category of 10 different courses has been determined by this council. These 10 categories include various 56 allied health care courses.
More than 16,000 physiotherapists are registered in the State Physiotherapy Council, all these physiotherapists will be included in it when the Allied Health Council is formed, apart from physiotherapy courses, 55 other course specialists will also be registered with the Allied Health Care and Sciences Council.
The council will set standards for allied and health care education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Review faculty development, approve recognized academic qualification courses and perform other functions assigned by the government for undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The council will also monitor allied and health care institutions and register allied and health care professionals in the state, it will also enforce the policy and code of conduct to be followed by these professionals and take disciplinary action including striking off the name of professionals from the State Register.
What will be the accreditation category of 10 different courses by this council?
(1) Medical Laboratory and Life Sciences, (2) Trauma, Burncare and Surgical/Anesthesia Related Technology, (3) Physiotherapy Professionals, (4) Nutritional Sciences Professionals, (5) Ophthalmology Professionals, (6) Occupational Therapy Professionals, (7) Community Care, Behavioral Health Sciences and Other Professionals, (8) Medical Radiology, Imaging and Therapeutic Technology Professionals, (9) Medical Technologists and Physician Associates, (10) Health Information Management and Health Informatics Professionals. These 10 categories include different 56 allied health care courses.
