Gandhinagar, Thursday : Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani held a high level meeting with the committee chaired by ex. Union finance secretary Shri Hasmukh Adhiya which has been formed to suggest recommendations for restructuring of businesses and other sectors including economic activities-industry-trade-employment in the state following the prevailing situation after COVID-19 outbreak.
The committee has submitted its interim report in this meeting to Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel. Education Minister Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Agriculture Minister Shri R. C. Faldu, Revenue Minister Shri Kaushikbhai Patel as well as Energy Minister Shri Saurabhbhai Patel also joined the meeting.
In the context of this report, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Ministers discussed about action plan to revive the industry, trade, business and employment and various sectors in the state and to restore public life in such a fast way out after the crisis of Covid-19.
The committee will study the sectoral and Sub-sectoral economic losses in the state and suggest measures for sector-specific restructuring. Along with that this committee will review the state’s fiscal and budgetary situation and suggest its corrective measures. The committee will also make recommendations on reconsideration of the tax structure as well as suggest long term and short term plans.
The committee of six members was formed by the Chief Minister which includes eminent experts from various fields. Former Professor of IIM Ahmedabad Prof. Ravindra Dholakia, Renowned Tax Consultant Shri Mukesh Patel, Financial Expert Shri Pradeep Shah, Former IAS Officer Shri Kirit Shelat and M.D. of GIDC as Shri M. Thennarson are members of this committee.
In this meeting of the High Level Committee, Chief Secretary Shri Anil Mukim, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Kailasanathan, Principal Secretary Shri M. K Das and senior officials also remained present.
