Defense Ministry orders: Approval must be sought before showing Indian Army scenes anywhere in film or web series

The Ministry of Defense had received some complaints about Indian Army personnel and military uniforms being insultingly shown in films and web series.

Following the complaint, the Ministry of Defense has officially told the Central Board of Film Certification and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that the production house will have to get a NOC from the Ministry of Defense for airing any documentary, web series made on the Indian Army. Films made on Indian Army and its broadcast will not be possible without NOC.

The Central Board of Film Certification and the Information and Broadcasting Department have been told by the Defense Ministry that this has been done to prevent all these incidents. Seeing the image of the defense forces deteriorating has hurt the spirit of the defense personnel and veterans.

Complaints received to the Ministry of Defense say that some web series have shown insulting scenes with the army. Which is far from reality. Not only that, but the image of the army has been tarnished by the scenes shown in the series. Which has also hurt the sentiments of some concerned civilians and ex-soldiers.
