Fake soybean seeds, farmers dependent on sky clouds

The Meteorological Department has predicted good rains in this monsoon. The administration has not shown seriousness in arranging soybean seeds for the farmers. Every year private companies and agents become rich through fake seeds.
Soybean cultivation is more prevalent in tribal areas. Certified and base seed should be sold by the Seed Corporation but not in sufficient quantity. 4.50 lakh quintals of soybean is made available by the Seed Corporation.
The concern of farmers has increased after the seizure of 3.60 crore fake seeds from Ahmedabad and Wadali on 16 May 2022. So on 17th May 2022, the Agriculture Minister had to announce that traders should not sell fake seeds. He also said that farmers want their bills.
Plantation will increase.
Last year in 2021, 174% more saplings were planted in Gujarat. 2.24 lakh hectares. Last year in 2019, 2.02 lakh tonnes was produced in 1.49 lakh hectares. This time 2.50 lakh hectares can be planted. Production may increase by 3.51 lakh tonnes to 3.75 lakh tonnes. On an average 1567 kg of soya is harvested per hectare.
district
The Agriculture Department needs to pay special attention to those 9 districts where soybean is grown the most. These include Junagadh, Aravalli, Sabarkantha, Dahod, Vadodara, Rajkot, Amreli, Gir, Surat.
Dahod
Soybean cultivation in Dahod is 28-30 thousand hectare more than other crops. Which is 30 percent of the total area of the state. Aravalli is the second largest crop of the state with 15 per cent in 14-15 thousand hectares.
In 2020, certified seeds were given cheaply by the Seed Corporation of India and Gujarat Seed Corporation at Idar in Sabarkantha.
Deogarh Baria
In 2017, a new seed of NRC-37 variety of soybean has been sown in Deogarh Baria. Due to which 2283 kg.
Which produces much more than other varieties.
Farmers are excited about the sowing of soybean crop, but so far the administration has not shown seriousness in arranging soybean seeds for the farmers in the district.
How many seeds will be required this time, how many seeds are available from which company at present, it has not been given by the Agriculture Department.
Farmers are confused. The authorities have left the farmers absolutely skyrocketing to buy soybean seeds. In such a situation, fake soybean seed sellers have become active.
Soyabean seeds are likely to be sold in black market and substandard seed market. This is because the process of inspection of fertilizer and seed shops in the market has not started yet.
By the time the officials responsible for sampling reach the shops after the seeds are sold, thousands of quintals of seeds are sold.
Seed testing should start on time but officials are not paying attention and thousands of quintals of fake seeds are being sold. Where to complain if bad seeds are sold to the farmer? Toll free number should also be issued.
Farmers are forced to buy expensive seeds every year due to the arbitrariness of soybean seed companies. Seeds are sold to farmers without bills. They are forced to buy seeds along with other things when the bill demands. Government should take strict action against such companies.
The quality of soybean seeds should be checked at the fertilizer-seed shops in the market. Monitoring is necessary to ensure that farmers are not cheated.
