The Delhi-based institute has demanded Rs 700 a liter of halari milk. Mumbai’s big industrialists want to build a Halari breed farm in Gujarat. It is said to consider starting a 100-liter dairy. The company introduced 1000 litters of camel milk in Kutch in 2016. Bought 12 to 15 litters of milk from people. The number of donkeys in the country decreased by 62% compared to 2012. While the number of donkeys was 3.2 lakh in the 2012 census, it has increased to 1.2 lakh in the 2019 census. According to the 20th Livestock Census, the donkey population in India has fallen by 62 percent from 3.30 lakh in 2012 to 1.20 lakh in 2019. The population of all types of donkeys has declined by 40.47 percent during the last 5 years. In Gujarat, 72% of pits have reduced in 7 years.

Maldhari Vasharam Sonda of Nana Garadia in Dhrol taluka with sheep and goats from 5 generations 40 hallis have donkeys. There is a tradition of 100 to 150 years. Maldhari families never sell donkey milk. There are 40 male and female Halari donkeys from 3 generations. A person from Madhya Pradesh came to bring donkey milk to him whose name was not disclosed. The brothers Kholabhai Jujubhai and Hamir Haja Bhudia have 25 Kalahari donkeys.

A decline of 32.64 percent was observed between 2003 and 2007. There has been a decrease of 61.23 percent between 2012 and 19.
The total population of all types of donkeys in Gujarat is 11286. There are 1865 donkeys with asses under 3 years old, 450 males of 3 or above. The number of females is 1623 below 3 and 3294 below 3. The total number of females is 4917. Males are 6369. Thus the female is inferior. The total number is 11286 of which 11 percent are Halari. Between 2012 and 2019, Gujarat saw a drop of 70.94 percent. Which comes after Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh all over India.
Kheda, Kutch, Vadodara, Sabarkantha have the largest population of all donkeys.
