[:en]Gujarat government distributes Rs.180-cr assistive kits to 10,000 tribal [:]

[:en]Ahmedabad, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today distributed assistive kits worth Rs.140-crore to over 10,000 beneficiaries belonging to the most backward sections of the society at a function at Uka-Tarsadia in the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s karma bhoomi, extending from Mahuva to Bardoli in south Gujarat.

The assistance varied from permission letters under Halpati Awas Yojna, keys to residential units, roads and electricity works, Ganga Swarup Pension. The beneficiaries belonged to Surat, Tapi, Valsad and Navsari districts.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rupani said that Gujarat is taking lead in building a New India and all round development of Vanbandhu-Antyodaya people comprising the poor, have-nots and forest-dwellers to free them from poverty, exploitation, unemployment and corruption.

He said the transparent, sensitive and decisive state government is marching ahead on fast-track with the mantra of taking everybody along the path of all round development, with a new proactive and pro-people decision almost every day, as Gujarat becomes a role model for other states to compete with foreign countries.

Mr. Rupani recalled the developments during the last two decades and how the state government proposed to provide houses with facilities to everybody by 2022, provide irrigation water to every field, every hand gets a job and to ensure making women self-reliant.

Tribal Development and Women & Child Welfare Minister Ganpatsinh Vasava listed various Central and State Government schemes. He said that 13-lakh acre land has been distributed to the tribal under rights to forest, irrigation works worth 5,000-crore are in progress during the last three years and 8-crore cooking gas connection under Ujjwala scheme, 5-lakh houses have been provided.

Social Empowerment Minister Ishwarbhai Parmar, Minister of State for Tribal Development Ramanlal Patkar and Member of Parliament from Mandvi Prabhudas Vasava, MLA from Mahuva Mohanbhai Dodiya spoke on the occasion.
