Gandhinagar, inaugurated the 73rd annual conference of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association IRIA-2020 and Asian Radiology Forum at Mahatma Mandir Gandhinagar.
Tele-radiology like telemedicine in healthcare and welfare of the mankind, especially in remote areas. He the state government has made strides in many fields in building a healthy nation. He hoped the radiologists’ conference would set new global milestones in the same direction.
CM Rupani said the Gujarat Government had launched Mukhya Mantri Ma Amritam Yojna like Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Yojna for treatment of poor and needy patients suffering from serious illness at the government cost up to Rs.5-lakh.
He said that Gujarat has become a hub of medical education and health services, having increased seats in the medical colleges and proposed to increase seats in radiology. Latest advances in radiology have helped treatment of serious diseases like cancer in the primary stage itself. He said that safety has to be adopted in diagnosis through radiation as per the norms set up by BARC. He lauded the initiatives of IRIA and young professionals in application of new technology. He stressed the use of animal radiology, and particularly conducting a separate session by military men and pay tributes to martyrs in the military.
IRIA President Dr. Hemant Patel in his welcome address said the current IRIA conference, deliberating on radiology and sonography, will be the world’s number one. He said that no a single member of the association is practising gender test. The association has planted one lakh saplings across the country, including Mahatma Mandir here, as part of its environmental responsibility.
IRIA President Elect Dr. Deepak Patkar also spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Minister presented the President’s Appreciation Awards.
An exhibition on the theme ‘Research to Reality’ was held at the venue. It is being attended by experts, faculties, researchers and delegates from Asian nations like Japan, Hong Kong, Nepal and Bangladesh, as well as from other continents like USA, England, Germany, Oman etc.
