Often the general public does not get NOC certificate from government officials for organ donation, the government process of NOC is complicated.

During the corona pandemic, Surat has carved out a niche in organ donation not only in Gujarat but across the country. In the presence of 300 organizations from Surat city, 221 organ donor families from South Gujarat were felicitated at Kiran Hospital. 25 prominent doctors of the city, including President Nilesh Mandlewala, who served through Donate Life, were also honored for their significant contribution towards organ donation.

There are 17 Kidney Transplant Centers and 5 Liver Transplant Centers in Gujarat.
The government inaugurated the heart and lung transplant program at UN Mehta Hospital. But it hasn’t started yet. Ahmedabad is the only registered private hospital for heart transplant.
