There are 107 villages in the Ghed area of Porbandar and 7 taluks of Junagadh. In which 28 villages of 3 taluks of Junagadh district fall under Ghed. Junagadh district was one 24 years ago. There are 11 villages of Keshod, 4 villages of Manavadar and 13 villages of Mangrol. All the villages are situated on hills. Tradition

These varieties are no longer economically viable because they do not receive good prices and high yields, so farmers are reducing them to farming for commercial purposes. Famine is also a cause. Planting is done to eat for your home. If Junagadh Agricultural University does nothing to improve the seeds, then these unique varieties are on the verge of extinction. Apart from selling land, BJP’s Vijay Rupani government will do nothing here.
There are some unique local varieties of sesame, onion, garlic and paddy. Red-red wheat, white pieces of wheat, red-black paddy are now rare. It will not be planted in a few years.
No monsoon farming
Monsoon farming is not done here. It is cultivated here 8 months after the monsoon. Such an area is nowhere in India except Bhal in Ahmedabad. Traditional ghee farming is decreasing now.

Black tea like china
Black tea without milk is drunk here like China. The whole of Gujarat drinks harmful tea with milk but people here drink black tea with a unique taste. In which lemon juice is added. Which is the major drink of the Ghed region. Black tea is called coffee. It tastes so good that it often makes you feel like drinking it. It is difficult to keep cattle in this area because it is isolated from the world for 4 months in the monsoon. Then milk tea may have replaced black tea.
