The city virtually shut down , vehicle movement was high between 9am and 10am. Flyovers were closed and some roads were made one-way stretches.
Police seized 1,883 bikes, 67 three-wheelers and 47 cars in 2,436 cases and booked 989 people for venturing out without masks. The seized vehicles won’t be released soon, said police. Only vehicles with essential goods and passengers with proper epasses were allowed. Those with Covid symptoms were allowed to go to hospitals.

As the 12-day intense lockdown began on Friday. Police personnel deployed across the city ensured effective implementation of curbs.
