Mitwa Chaudhary, fencing
17-year-old Mitwa Chaudhary of Sujnipur village of Patan has won a bronze medal at the national level in fencing sport. With this, Mitwa Chaudhary has confirmed her place in the Indian team of Fencing World Championship. Won a bronze medal in the 34th Senior National Fencing Championship held in Guwahati, Assam and made it to the Indian team for the Senior Asian and World Championships.
Regarding this, Mitwa Chaudhary says, “I have been associated with sports since the age of 17. After watching the fencing championship in Gandhinagar, he got attracted towards this sport and started fencing (fencing) from the year 2018. Currently I am training for 6 hours a day at Vijay Bharat Sports Academy in Sanskardham near Sanand in Ahmedabad district. Earlier, he had won silver and bronze medals.
The 34th Senior National Fencing was held in Guwahati, Assam from 28 to 31 January. In March 2022, 12 brothers and 12 sisters from Gujarat participated in the Fancy Senior National at Naguru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, Punjab. The 32nd Senior National Fencing Competition was organized by Punjab Fencing Association under the initiative of Fencing Association of India. In the women’s foil team, Khushi Sameja, Sheetal Chaudhary, both of Banaskhata, Nisha Chaudhary – Mehsana, Divya Jhala – Gir Somnath, in the EP team, Ritu Chaudhary, Parvatiben Thakor and Srishti Chaudhary, all three of Gadhinagar, Mitwa Chaudhary – Patan, Priyanka Kumari Solanki in the saber team. and Jinal Chaudhary – Banastha, Ritu Prajapati – Mehsana and Vandita Brar.

Among EP sisters, Ritu Chaudhary won gold, Mitwa Chaudhary won silver, Parvati Thakor and Srishti Chaudhary won bronze medals. Among the Saber sisters, Ritu Prajapati won gold, Priyanka Solanki won silver, Vandita Brar and Bhagyashree won bronze medals. The winning players were honored with medals and certificates and selected to represent Gujarat for the next national level competition.
