This can be avoided with Nano Urea, claimed the government.

Two years ago, on December 23, a scam came to light in the GIDC of Khambattara Kansari village by selling subsidized urea fertilizer from Kambe Stone Works in bags of other brands.
In July 2019, 600 bags of semi-coated urea were seized from a godown at Piplod in Himmatnagar.
In June 2022, a quantity of 8,184 bags were intercepted and a total of 30 suspected neem coated urea samples were taken and sent to the Fertilizer Testing Laboratory.
At present there is a shortage of 5 lakh tonnes of urea in agricultural crops in Gujarat.

10 to 22 lakh tonnes of urea is used in Gujarat. Multiplying the price of one sack by 1300, farmers use urea worth Rs 3,000 crore. The government gives a subsidy of Rs 3,000 crore on this. In this way, farmers in Gujarat use urea worth Rs 6,000 crore.
The all India urea requirement during Rabi 2022-23 is 180.18 LMT.

Why did urea happen?
It has been 250 years since the discovery of urea.
Urea is an organic compound. Also called carbamide. A colourless, odourless, white, viscous and toxic solid. Found in the urine of mammals and reptiles. Urea was first discovered in urine in 1773 by the French scientist Hilary Rowley. The German scientist Wöhler was the first to produce urea artificially from silver isocyanate.
nano urea
The government was claiming that nano urea would reduce the use of urea. A 500 ml bottle of Nano Urea contains 40,000 ppm Nitrogen. Which will provide as much nitrogenous nutrients as a normal bag of urea. There will be a 50 percent reduction in consumption. The expenditure of 3 thousand crore rupees of the government and the farmers will be saved. Urea fertilizer is being used indiscriminately. The problem will be solved. The big advantage in this would be that the government has to give a subsidy of Rs.3000 crore.
Agricultural production can increase up to 5 million tonnes
98 lakh hectares of land is cultivated in the state. In which 500 lakh tonnes of agricultural production is done in Gujarat. If 8 per cent increase in production and 2 per cent cost savings are considered, the production can go up to 5 million tonnes.
