Nine officers of Ahmedabad Fire Department were fired

Nine fire officers who got jobs in the Ahmedabad Fire Department after getting admission in the National Fire College of Nagpur on the basis of fake sponsorship letters have been dismissed from their jobs after the allegations against them were proved. Of the three divisional fire officers working on probation, Kaizad Dastur is currently the Chief Fire Officer in-charge of the Gandhinagar Fire Department, Abhijeet Gadhvi is working as a regional fire officer in Surat.

In the year 2020-21, a complaint was lodged with the police on the basis of fake sponsorship letter in the National Fire Service College located in Nagpur. The team of SIT came to Ahmedabad on the basis of fake sponsorship letter in Nagpur Fire College The list of those who got admission in the college has revealed the names of some officers working in the Ahmedabad Fire Department.

Meanwhile, an inquiry was conducted regarding the officers working at various fire stations in Ahmedabad, in which the Municipal Commissioner gave evidence that nine officers got jobs in the Ahmedabad Fire Department after getting admission in Nagpur Fire College on the basis of fake sponsorship letter by Mustafa Patel. A vigilance inquiry was conducted against all of them after a retired employee of the Ahmedabad Fire Department filed a complaint seeking vigilance inquiry.

All of them were given final termination notices and given time to submit their reply within ten days, as the explanation given by them was not satisfactory, Municipal Commissioner M. Thennarasan ordered the dismissal of all of them on August 22-24 and demanded to recover the financial benefits received by them from all.
