PDPU’s eighth convocation on November 21

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, 8th Convocation held on November 21, 2020. About 2600 young, energetic and raring-to-go students will receive their degree certificates on the occasion. Owing to the COVID-19 entire proceeding, including the inauguration of the facilities, will be conducted on PDPU’s digital plaform- convocation2020.pdpu.ac.in

More than 40 scholars will receive PhD degree from the dignitaries who will also confer medals of merit upon 77 students. The five facilities that the honourable PM will inaugurate are (i) 45 MW production of monocrystalline solar photo voltaic panel (GEDA funding – Rs.17 cr), (ii) pdpu – technology business incubator (DST TBI–Rs.22 cr), (iii) Sports complex (SAG, GOG funding – Rs. 15 cr), (iv) Indo-EU bilateral project under horizon 2020 “India-h2o” for industrial waste & desalination (Rs. 14 crores), and (v) Translational Research Centre (TREC-PDPU).
About PDPU:

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, popularly known as PDPU and accredited with NAAC with a high “A” grade, has been established through the State Act enacted on April 4, 2007. The university offers programmes to address the need for trained human resources in the domains of science, technology, management, humanities and social sciences. Currently, more than 5000 students and research scholars are pursuing academics at the university in their areas of interests which include engineering and cutting edge technologies in nuclear, solar and geothermal energy, business management and liberal studies. The university has initiated activities to bring international flavour on the campus and help its students become global citizens.
To this end, PDPU hosts students from abroad and sends out own students as part of its International Exposure Programme. It intends to broaden the opportunities for students and professionals to develop core subject knowledge which are duly complemented by leadership training interventions, thereby helping the students to make a mark in the global arena. This objective is being further addressed through a number of specialized and well-planned undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral programmes as well as intensive research projects.

Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, will inaugurate five state-of-the-art facilities to mark the eighth convocation of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University on November 21. Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, will be the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Shri Mukesh Ambani, the President of the Board of Governors of PDPU and Chairman of Reliance Industry Ltd, will preside over the function.
