Lunch is scheduled from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM and the second slot is from 1:45 PM to 2:50 PM. For dinner, it is from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and the second slot is from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Ahmedabad-based company Akshay Travels Pvt Ltd will operate the river cruises. The company will pay an annual charge of Rs 45 lakh to SRFDCL for running cruises like 5 star hotels. The assembly of the cruise has taken place near the riverfront and the cost of this project is around Rs 15 crore.
Presently boating is done from two points on the riverfront in the city.
Why the delay of 18 years?
A floating restaurant project that took 18 years to get started. MoU in 2005 and Tender in 2011. However, after its cancellation, the project fell into disrepair. The work on the project started after the tender was floated a few months ago. Akshar Group Chairman Manish Sharma said that the cruise MoU was signed when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. The cruise is finally starting. This is the first project of its kind to be developed in India. The cruise boat was scheduled to launch in the first week of April 2023. But it will start in July.

Recreation in the river has been started by the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Limited. Annually Rs. A license fee of 45 lakhs is paid for the Sabarmati riverfront system. The company gets 3.75 lakh per month rent. This cruise has two dinner and two lunch trips throughout the day. There are 600 people in a day. But it is not decided how many rounds to do. In this way 5 cycles can be done.
Assembling in Vasna Barrage
The cruise was brought to the Sabarmati riverfront from Umargam in Valsad in the month of February 2023. It was made for three months. Tested. The body of the cruise has been prepared on the river front near Vasna Barrage. The body which was being prepared was lowered into the Sabarmati river today and later the work of interior design will be started. So that the cruise does not have to be brought into the river.
