The number of coronavirus infections continues to increase in India. According to data released on Wednesday by the Ministry of Health, 1694 people have died due to infection in the country so far, while 49,391 people have been found infected. Of these, about 33,514 are active cases, while 14,182 people have been recovered and sent home.
The most affected by the infection is Maharashtra, where a total of 15,525 cases have been registered so far. That is, about 30% of the infected in the whole country are from Maharashtra. Apart from this, 36% of the total deaths due to infection in the country are from this state. After this, the number is from Gujarat, where there are 6,245 cases and 368 people have died. The number of infected in Delhi has now crossed the 5 thousand mark. A total of 64 people have died here. It is followed by Tamil Nadu at number four (4058 cases, 33 deaths) and Rajasthan at fifth (3158 cases, 89 deaths).
