Despite the programs of Vibrant Gujarat, the problem of employment has not been solved by Modi and Modi’s fingerprint governments for 25 years. Big industries are fine but even small industries are not able to provide employment to the unemployed. Gujarat is also lagging behind in providing employment through small businesses in rural areas. Gujarat’s performance in the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program has not been good.
Gujarat is not even in the top five states in terms of getting employment
Thousands of unemployed are leaving villages and coming to cities for employment. Small industries are being promoted to stop the migration of unemployed and provide employment in rural areas. The central government has also started the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program. In which the main objective is to provide employment through small industries.
Gujarat has also lagged behind in the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program useful for the unemployed. While states like Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka have performed well and provided employment to the unemployed.
In response to a question asked in the Rajya Sabha, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has revealed that under the Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Srijan, 24 thousand people got employment in the year 2023-24 and 8688 people in the year 24-25. program. Development of small industries in Gujarat
At the same time, more people have got employment in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Karnataka. It is discussed that despite the encouragement of the state and central government, small industries in Gujarat are stagnant. Small businesses are facing many problems. Due to this, despite having many schemes of the government, it does not prove beneficial for the unemployed. However, the government claims that in the last four years, 38.44 lakh people have got employment through small industries in Gujarat.
In the last four years, 4049 small and medium enterprises have failed in Gujarat
The state government is making efforts to promote small and medium industries in Gujarat. However, due to many problems, it has become difficult for small and medium enterprises to flourish. This time the theme of Vibrant Gujarat is to keep small industries flourishing by starting GIDCs in the districts. Apart from this, efforts are being made to provide employment to the youth of the rural area. Still the shutters of small industries are falling.
In the Lok Sabha itself, the central government revealed that, in Gujarat, 491 small industries closed in the year 2021-22, 1074 in the year 2022-23, 2307 in the year 23-24 and 1076 in the year 2024-25. .
