Gujarat state government has spent a handsome amount of Rs. 100,000-Cr on various developmental projects in 14 tribal districts, spread between Ambaji and Umargam. These projects have improved the facilities such as education, housing, agriculture, animal husbandry, health, roads, electricity and others in the tribal areas of Gujarat. The state government has made special efforts for these areas.
PESA Act, our government has given rights of forest produces and minerals and ownership rights of forest land to 90,000 tribal families.
golden sunrise has occurred today for the farmers of Mahisagar district as Rs 3,500-crore’s KSY will provide them day-time electricity, which will give them liberty from working during the difficult night-hours and freedom from fear of being attacked by wild animals and insects. By the end of this month, day-time electricity will be made available to the farmers of 4,000 villages. And, all 18,000 villages of Gujarat will be covered under the KSY in next three years.
in order to make higher education easily available in the tribal belt, the taluka level has started science stream schools and colleges, Eklavya and model schools, boys and girls hostels and the district centers have started medical colleges. Thus, the dream of tribal youth to become a doctor-engineer will come true.
Giving figurative graph of development of the state government, Mr. Rupani said that in the past the state governments had budget of Rs. 8-9,000-crore. But, today the state budget has crossed over Rs. 210,000-Crore. A budget of even one single department is between Rs. 10-15,000-crore. The past governments were lacking political will for the development.
Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today laid foundation-stones and dedicated to people various developmental projects, worth of Rs. 117-crore, and also launched the second phase of ‘The Kisan Suryoday Yojana’ (KSY) for citizens of Mahisagar district at Lunawada.
