Gujarat’s three pharma companies have the capacity to manufacture 12 million hydroxychloroquine tablets in a short time. Gujarat’s Food and Drug Commissioner Hemant Koshiya said that the three major companies of Gujarat are also producing raw material of this drug and from this the drug will be produced. The leading companies include Cadila Healthcare Ltd, Ahmedabad, Mangalam Drugs & Organic Limited and Vital Laboratory of Vadodara. At present, the company has stock of 1 million tablets which the government is buying.
So Mangalam Drugs has a 14 to 15 day production cycle of this drug. Raw material is also ready to produce 1.5 tonnes of hydroxychloroquine in 20-25 days. So far, the first consumption of 200 kilos of medicine has been prepared. In addition, 1000 kg of medicine will be ready by April 15 at Cadila Healthcare.
