The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the 214 km long Tharad-Disa-Mehsana-Ahmedabad National High-Speed Corridor at a cost of Rs. 10,534 crore will be developed in Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) mode.
6 hectares of land is required for one kilometer. According to this, 1300 hectares of agricultural land will be acquired from farmers in this route. 150 bridges and ROBs are to be constructed.
The 44 km long road in Mehsana district will take away the land of 1900 farmers from 40 villages. The 214 km highway will take away 8 to 10 thousand farmers from 160 villages and 1300 hectares of fallow land.
Grain will be lost
2500 kg of grain is produced in one hectare. Due to that, 30 lakh kg of grain will be lost every year. A single highway will rob the grain of 60,000 people every year.
The construction of a fencing express highway will divide the land into two pieces. The geographical situation will change. As soon as the highway will be parallel to the Sujalam Sufalam canal, the foundation of the canal will be destroyed.
The farmers will get compensation much less than the market price of the land. The environmental, social and damage assessment has not been done yet. How many farmers will become landless?

The Tharad-Ahmedabad corridor will provide connectivity between two main national corridors of Gujarat state, Amritsar-Jamnagar corridor and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which will serve cargo vehicles coming from industrial areas of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan to major ports of Maharashtra.
The cabinet has approved 8 important national high-speed road corridor projects of 936 km at a cost of more than 50 thousand crores. In this regard, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about the decision taken in the cabinet by holding a press conference.
These include 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor, 4-lane Kharagpur-Morgram National High-Speed Corridor, 6-lane Tharad-Desa-Mehsana-Ahmedabad.
Implementation of 8 important projects will generate direct and indirect employment of about 4.42 crore man days.
High-Speed Corridor, 4 It includes 4-lane Ayodhya Ring Road, 4-lane section of Raipur-Ranchi National High-Speed Corridor between Pahalgaon and Gumla and 6-lane Kanpur Ring Road.
The 88 km long Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor will be developed as a fully access-controlled 6-lane corridor on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) mode at a total capital cost of Rs 4,613 crore. crore
The travel time between Agra and Gwalior will be reduced by 50 percent, which will significantly reduce logistics costs.
The 231-km-long Kharagpur-Morgram National High-Speed Corridor will be developed in hybrid annuity mode with a total capital expenditure of Rs 10,247 crore.
The traffic capacity between Kharagpur and Morgram will increase by almost five times.
The 68-km-long access-controlled Ayodhya Ring Road will be developed in hybrid annuity mode (HAM) at a total capital cost of Rs 3,935 crore. The ring road will decongest the national highways passing through the city, facilitating faster movement of pilgrims to the Ram temple.
The 137-km-long Pathalgaon and Gumla section of the Raipur-Ranchi National High Speed Corridor will be developed in hybrid annuity mode (HAM) with a total capital expenditure of Rs 4,473 crore.
The 47-km-long Kanpur Ring Road will be developed in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode at a total capital cost of Rs 3,298 crore.
The 121 km long North Guwahati bypass and widening/upgradation of existing Guwahati bypass will be developed in three segments in Build Operate Toll (BOT) mode at a total capital cost of Rs 5,729 crore. A major bridge over river Brahmaputra will also be constructed under the project.
The 30 km long elevated Nashik-Phata-Khed corridor near Pune at a cost of Rs 7,827 crore will be developed on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.
A new corridor will be developed between Tharad and Ahmedabad to reduce logistics cost and create a high speed road network for seamless port connectivity in Gujarat.
