The state government has ensured to arrange the safe return of around 14.10 lakh migrant workers through 966 special Shramik Corona trains as of today. The first Shramik train was started on 2nd May, 2020.
929 Shramik trains have been operated as of 26th May, 2020; 00:00 hours to send 13 lakh 48 thousand migrant workers back to their home from Gujarat. Out of this, 535 trains have been sent to U.P, 228 to Bihar, 69 for Orissa, 35 for Jharkhand, 24 for M.P, 15 for Chattisgarh, 5 for Uttarakhand, 3 for West Bengal, 2 each for Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, 1 train each for Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Tripura.
39 trains will be operated today to carry 62 thousand migrants. 28 trains will run for U.P, 1 for Bihar, 2 for Jharkhand, 7 trains for Orissa and 1 for West Bengal,
All necessary safety protocols are being observed in the trains in addition to the provision of food and potable water. Providing details of the same, Secretary to the CM Mr. Vijay Rupani, Mr.Ashwani Kumar said.
