BJP’s Rupani government ending APCM in Gujarat before 3 anti-farmer laws

Gandhinagar, 25 March 2021
The state government of BJP is gradually wiping out the farmers. A strong proof of this is given by a handful of Congress MLAs in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Before the government abolishes the APMC with 3 laws, the anti-farmer BJP in Gujarat, Vijay Rupani’s government has withheld a large amount of funds. If APMC is not modern, private agricultural markets will become more modern and farmers will start taking goods.

The state government claims to double the farmers’ income, but in 2019 the three market committees have been paid only Rs 1.45 crore and in 2020 the market committees have been modernized by paying Rs 1.94 crore to the seven market committees.

In the year 2020, most of the market committees have been assisted only by the market committees of the region where the assembly by-elections were held. It is clear from this information that the government is not interested in modernizing the market committees and helping to benefit the farmers.
