The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has fined two private hospitals in Ahmedabad Rs 10 lakh. A Corona test of Rs 4,500 was demanded from a patient referred by the corporation at Bodyline Hospital on Vikasgruh Road in Paldi area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Therefore, he has been fined Rs 5 lakh. Not responding to the notice is punishable. Does not treat patients as a rule. Two hospitals in Ahmedabad had breached the agreement so they have been asked to pay fines.
The corporation had also acquired 50 per cent bed corona treatment at Artham Hospital in Panjrapol area of the city. However, the corporation referred a patient to the hospital saying the bed was not empty.
The hospital is admitting its patients on beds acquired by the corporation at Artham Hospital. After issuing a notice to the hospital and asking for an explanation, Rs. A fine of Rs 5 lakh was imposed.
Both hospitals have violated the rules under the Epidemic Act. The two hospitals, which have not provided free treatment to Corona patients since the MoU was signed with AMC, have been fined Rs 5 lakh each. The administrators of both the private hospitals have been asked to pay the fine within seven days.
Beds are acquired by the corporation for the treatment of Corona patients through MoUs with several hospitals in Ahmedabad. Whether or not there is a patient on this bed, the corporation pays the hospital a fixed charge.
