Cyber ​​attacks on women increased by 150% in Gujarat, no one is punished

There are cyber attacks on women in Gujarat. Despite a 150 percent increase in cyber crime incidents, the BJP’s Vijay Rupani government has not been able to convict a single cyber criminal in the court.
In Gujarat, there were 94 incidents of cyber crime against women in 2017 and it increased to 226 in 2019. Thus, the incidence of cyber crime against women has increased by 150% in just two years. However, not a single person has been convicted in cyber crime against women between 2017 and 2019.
As per the details presented in the Lok Sabha, in 2018, 94 incidents of cyber crime against women were reported in Gujarat. Of these, 59 chargesheets were filed. While 83 people were arrested. Not a single person was convicted.
In 2018, the incidence of cyber crime against women almost doubled and a total of 184 cases were reported. Of these, chargesheets were filed in 113 cases and 154 people were arrested. But in 2018, like 2017, no one was found guilty.
In 2019, a charge sheet was filed in 189 against 226 cases of cyber crime. A total of 269 people were arrested. But no one was found guilty. There were 4242 incidents of cyber crime against women in 2017, 6030 in 2018 and 8379 incidents in 2019 across the country. Out of a total of 18,651 cases registered in 3 years, 131 persons have been convicted.
Children are also falling victim to cybercrime. There have been 23 incidents of cyber crime on children in 3 years. In the year 2019, the maximum number of children in cyber crime in Uttar Pradesh were 90 children. On the other hand, there were 88 cases of cyber crime against children in 2017, 232 in 2018 and 305 cases in 2019 across the country.
