UP Chief Minister More than 100 former bureaucrats have written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The letter said that the anti-prosecution ordinance has made the state the center of social hatred, divisions and politics of governance and religious bigotry. Charter officials have called the ordinance completely illegal. Which has been demanded to be withdrawn immediately.
Former National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon, former Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and former Prime Minister Adviser T. K. a. 104 retired IAS, IPS, IFS officers including Nair have written a letter with names to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
All have demanded the repeal of the ‘Conversion Against Uttar Pradesh Act, 2020’. Officials say the law has made Uttar Pradesh the center of politics of hatred, division and bigotry. Which is affecting the whole country.
Uttar Pradesh was once meant to irrigate the Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb, but now with the enactment of this law, hatred has become the center of divisive politics.
In the letter, former officials have written that the law is a conspiracy against minorities. They are designed to annoy. Love Jihad is named after right-wing ideologies. In it, Muslim men allegedly seduce Hindu women and then force them to marry. This is just a provocation. This is a unilateral atrocity by the administration against the youth.
Former officials have cited the Allahabad High Court verdict. In which it is said that if the boy and the girl are minors and are marrying on their own, then no offense can be registered anywhere. The court issued an order last month, which violates the right to freedom of a person who violates a personal relationship.
