Vote Counting started at 60 places in 6 cities of Gujarat

The counting of votes for the municipal corporations of the six metropolitan cities of Gujarat has started at 60 places from 9 am.

According to information provided by the Election Commission, a total of 354 employees have been counted on 664 tables in 60 halls at 15 places in the state. 5,000 police personnel have been deployed to provide security. Due to Kovid-19, 227 health department employees will also be on duty.

As per the orders of Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Sanjay Srivastava, no person, other than the police and staff involved in the election process, can use mobiles or any other electronic communication equipment or vehicles within 200 meters of the polling station.

In addition, matches, gas, lighters or other flammable materials may not be used inside the counting center (or within a radius of 200 meters on each side).
