A total of 43 thousand queries, complaints, difficulties, representations were received in the State, District, Taluka and Village reception rooms during the welcome week. Out of these, 93 percent i.e. 40 thousand 500 problems were resolved. It simply means that the officials, the government machinery or the government itself does not want to solve the problems and grievances of the people. The government is not under the control of the people and the servants are not under the control of the government. It is clear that the system has broken down.
After receiving prestigious awards including United Nations International Award, Government of India National Award for the reception program, the Chief Minister urged to take the initiative to create a world class model of grievance redressal.
The Prime Minister said that Swagat instilled confidence in the public and on the basis of this ‘Swagat’ model, he has now started the ‘Pragati’ program in the Government of India.
Swagat helps citizens to air their grievances to the Chief Minister. It is held on the fourth Thursday of every month. Actually it should be every Monday. But this is not done. Even though the Chief Minister takes the decision, it is not implemented by the officials in many cases. So people do not get justice.
As many as 1462 complaints were made by people at village level, taluka level and district level welcome programs during the welcome week by District Collector Praveena DK through Ahmedabad district administration. A total of 284 applications for Taluka Swagat and 28 applications for District Swagat were received by the District Administration. A total of 1275 complaints and 277 complaints were resolved from Taluka reception and 27 complaints were resolved from District reception. The city and district together have 40 grievance mechanisms. In such a situation, it is believed that 40 to 60 thousand complaints are received in every district every month.

It has been told that from the beginning of the welcome program till now, the areas of Vatva, Ghatlodia, Dholera, Sabarmati, Bavla, Daskroi, Sanand, Maninagar, Dholka, Detroj are included in the welcome program of the district. A total of 18 thousand 845 applications were received in Asarwa, Viramgam, Dhandhuka, Mandal and Vejalpur. 17 thousand 127 applications were disposed of. That is, 91 percent of the applications were disposed of. For this, 6 thousand 336 applicants were personally heard. 1718 applications were pending due to administrative or legal matters.
10 thousand 746 applications were received in the Taluka Swagat programme. 100% disposed of.
From April 24, 2003 to March 10, 2023, 5 lakh 66 thousand complaints and applications have been disposed of at a rate of 99.52 percent.
Out of which 36 thousand 848 applications were received for Panchayat, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department.
The reception program is organized at four levels namely village, taluka, district and state level. From the village level which is the smallest unit of democracy to the city
Various problems are solved from a single platform.
People had to visit various offices regarding their queries and if there was no solution from there, they had to go to Gandhinagar. But with the help of technology it has been simplified and people can submit their entries, queries and problems at their fingertips and get their solutions right from the comfort of their homes.

Which is addressed through this ‘Welcome’ grievance redressal programme.
Since 2008, Swagat Online has been extended to Taluka units, not limited to District Headquarters and Secretariat.
