Following representations and reports that some private schools in the state are forcing parents to charge this year’s tuition fees, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama clarified yesterday that no school administrator can force students or parents to collect this year’s tuition fees immediately.
As per the agreement reached with the state government on April 14 by the leaders of the state school board, parents will be able to pay the tuition fees by next September, in monthly installments or as per their convenience.
According to the agreement, the school administrators will have to collect the current year’s tuition fees from the parents. However, if a private school receives a complaint alleging pressure on fees, the Department of Education will take legal action against the school.
