Gujarat give e-vehicle subsidy similar to the central government

Gandhinagar, 22 June 2021

Will provide a subsidy of Rs 10,000 per kWh for the purchase of electric vehicles. Which is double the highest in the country. Other states give such a subsidy of Rs 5,000 per kWh.

This policy has to be introduced as the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 100 per litre.

The best bikes in the market right now are the Revolt bikes with 1.5 to 3 kW motors.
The Ather scooter comes with a 3.3 kW motor. It takes 4 to 6 hours to charge the bike’s battery. The other bikes and scooters that come are from the hustle and bustle companies.

Gujarat Electric Vehicle Policy-2021 has been announced. New e-vehicle technology will be promoted. E-vehicle driving, sales, financing, servicing and charging will increase.

Four things are emphasized. Increasing the use of electric vehicles, focusing on production in e-vehicle devices.

To encourage young startups and investors for electric mobility. Reducing air and noise pollution. To encourage 2 lakh electric vehicles to ply on roads in 4 years.

1.10 lakh two-wheelers, 70 thousand three-wheelers and 20 thousand four-wheelers will come to the state in four years.

The consumption cost of e-vehicles is on average 30 to 50 percent less than other vehicles. So 2 lakh vehicles will save Rs 5 crore fuel. 6 million tonnes of carbon emissions will be reduced,

Electric vehicles are expensive. The common man cannot afford it. Rich people will buy 2 lakh vehicles. The minimum price of a two-wheeler is Rs 1.50 lakh. Which the common man cannot buy. The government will have to bear the burden of Rs 870 crore in 4 years.

The Gujarat government will give the same subsidy as the central government gives at present.
Anyone who buys an electric two-wheeler up to Rs 1.50 lakh will get a subsidy of up to Rs 20,000.
Jada used to give a subsidy of Rs 12,000 to the student. It is not yet known what he will do after leaving office.

Three-wheelers costing up to Rs 5 lakh will get a subsidy of up to Rs 50,000.
For a four-wheeler priced up to Rs 15 lakh, you will get Rs 1.50 lakh. Cars are priced between Rs 9 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
The vehicle will be given in the bank account of the buyer.

The subsidy will be available in a very short time through the portal.

vehicle registration
There is 100% exemption from the motor registration fee, regardless of the type of vehicle.
The government of India provides subsidies to vehicle buyers under Electric Vehicle Incentive Scheme (Frame-2). The Gujarat government is also a subsidy.

charging infrastructure
Incentives will be given for battery-charging infrastructure in electric vehicles.

The Government of India has approved 278 charging stations in the state of Gujarat under the Electric Vehicle Promotion Scheme (Frame-II).

The state government will provide a capital subsidy of up to 25 percent to the extent of Rs 10 lakh for setting up another 250 charging stations. A network of 528 charging stations will be set up in Gujarat.

Will promote charging infrastructure through technology and various business models. This would include charging for privately-owned, power distribution companies and investor-owned charging infrastructure and battery swapping stations.

There is provision for charging stations in housing and commercial construction. Petrol pumps will also be allowed for charging stations.

Manufacturers of electric vehicles will get incentives in Gujarat Industrial Policy and other policies. This policy has been adapted to the National Electric Mobility Plan.

The responsibility of planning, implementation and review of the policy has been entrusted to the Department of Ports and Transport.
