In Gujarat, 10 lakh rural households have water taps, 17 lakh connections will 17 months

10 lakh tap connections have been provided in rural areas of Gujarat. By 2022 all houses will be tapped. There are 17 lakh tap connections pending in rural areas of Gujarat. One lakh tap connections are being provided every month. In 17 months, tap water will reach every house in the state.

In five districts, 100 percent of the households have been installed taps. These include Porbandar, Anand, Gandhinagar, Botad and Mehsana. In Junagadh district, 94 tap connections were provided in the year 2019 and 2067 in the year 2020. A total of Rs 1521.55 lakh was spent under this. While in Bhavnagar district, 4894 tap connections were given in the year 2019 and 20364 in the year 2020. A total of Rs 5730.35 lakh has been spent on this.
