The central government will provide 70 per cent of Gujarat’s total revenue, but where is the money?

Gandhinagar, 14 May 2020
1 lakh crore could come to Gujarat, from the center. Everyone can get Rs.15500, in Gujarat. The Gujarat government has started preparations in this regard. But, industries have collapsed, offices are not functioning and there is no employment and 20 lakh workers are leaving Gujarat. Therefore, the revenue of the Gujarat government may be hit by Rs 20,000 to 40,000 crore. So trade and people have lost billions of rupees.
The annual revenue of the Gujarat government is Rs. 1.40 lakh crore. The assistance to be provided by the Central Government is 70% of the total revenue of the Government of Gujarat at present. The big question is how the central government can provide such massive assistance. This was stated by Gujarat government sources.
The Gujarat Cabinet thanked the Central Government for announcing a relief package of Rs 20 lakh crore. A district-wise review of the state of Koro transition and health measures in the state – lockdown implementation and distribution of foodgrains was conducted.
At a video conferencing cabinet meeting of the state cabinet, the Prime Minister thanked for the Rs 20 lakh crore relief package announced to revive trade-industry-business-employment from the state of lockdown following the Corona virus.
Discussions were also held in the cabinet meeting on how the benefits of this package in Gujarat can be extended to small and medium enterprises, including the people of Chhewada and the needy, including trade and industry employment.
Discussions were also held at the state cabinet meeting on deciding the strategy for implementation of the package in the state.
Arrangements have been made by running trains on a large scale for workers from Gujarat who want to go to their home state once and for all.
Such trains are still to be planned more intensively from towns like Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and a specific time bound program should be made and implemented for the workers of states like UP, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand to go to their home state.
