Had it not been for the lockdown in India during the Corona crisis, 54,000 people would have died, while 2 million Coro patients would have died. The central government on Friday released the figures citing a study by the Ministry of Statistics and the Indian Statistical Institute. However, the basis on which the study was conducted has not been disclosed.
About 23 lakh cases have been avoided due to the lockdown. While 68,000 lives have been saved. Countries around India had a mild lockout. Yet corona patients in the Indian subcontinent, including Pakistan, are less than in other countries of the world. So there is no basis for the possibilities announced by the Modi government.
The immune system of the people of India and surrounding countries has been found to be so strong that the corona has had little effect.
At the start of the lockdown, Corona’s cases were doubling in 3.4 days, while now they are doubling in 13.3 days. As many as 48,534 crore patients have recovered so far in the country as of Friday evening, according to the health ministry.
This is 41 percent of the total cases. In the last 24 hours, 3,234 patients with Covid-19 have recovered. At the same time, the Covid-19 mortality rate fell to 3.02 percent from 3.13 percent on May 19.
