The new beet can increase milk production by 8 to 10 percent, which can be grown in saline soils

Gandhinagar, 13 September 2020
Animal Milk can be increased by 8 to 10 percent by preparing the crop at low production cost and giving it as fodder to the animals. This bait is a kind of bit. Which is known as beet fodder? Kanji and Tharparkar feed beet fodder to cows, whose milk production has increased by 8 to 10 percent. The beetroot yields less time and more. Its plant is very large. The beet feed of a plant can weigh from five to six kilograms. The crop is sown between 15 October and 15 November. Which yields around 200 tonnes per hectare in four months. The production cost is less than 50 paise per kilogram. It has been used in the agricultural university of Gujarat.

The animal is given 12 kg of dry feed

In arid regions like Banaskantha, Kutch, Surendranagar, Morbi, Jamnagar, the biggest problem of cattle ranchers is what to feed their animals. Fodder can be grown to increase milk production and improve animal health. The root of beetroot, which is a mixture of beetroot and carrot, weighs 1.5 kg. 60% of roots – condoms remain outside the soil. It can be removed by hand. Cow and buffalo can be given 12 to 20 kg daily by cutting the roots into small pieces and mixing it with dry fodder. Do not feed more than 60% of the animal’s dry feed requirement. Feeding too many beets can cause acidity in the animal. Do not feed beets that have already been cut for three days.

The research

The Central Arid Zone Research Institute in Jodhpur, Rajasthan has developed a new type of fodder beet. This organization helps farmers in many states to grow fodder. Some farmers in Banaskantha have grown beet tea which has led to good results in cattle. Now the National Dairy Development Board and the Department of Agriculture have started work on how useful beet fodder is.

Saline soil

It can occur on the salty land of Kutch, Surendranagar, Morbi, Dwarika, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Mehsana. Beet fodder can be grown by making beds in salt-affected soil. Joman, Munro, JK Kubera, and Jeronimo are good varieties of fodder varieties. Water should be given in 7 to 15 days.
