કોરોના વાયરસના વધતા જતા સંક્રમણને અટકાવવા માટે લૉકડાઉન તથા ક્લસ્ટર ક્વોરેન્ટાઈન વિસ્તારોમાં સર્વેલન્સ વધુ ચુસ્ત બનાવવા પોલીસ ફૂટ પેટ્રોલિંગ અને મોટરસાઇકલ પેટ્રોલિંગ વધારશે તેવું જણાવતા રાજ્યના પોલીસ મહાનિદેશક શ્રી શિવાનંદ ઝાએ નાગરિકોને પણ ઘરમાં જ રહીને સોશ્યિલ ડિસ્ટન્સીંગનું જાગૃકતાથી પાલન કરવા અનુરોધ કર્યો હતો.
લૉકડાઉનના અમલ દરમિયાન પોલીસ વિભાગની કામગીરીની વિગતો માધ્યમોને આપતા શ્રી ઝાએ ઉમેર્યું કે અમદાવાદ શહેરમાં જે ઝડપભેર સંક્રમણ વધી રહ્યું છે તેવા સંજોગોમાં પોલીસતંત્ર દ્વારા શહેર ક્રાઇમ બ્રાન્ચ તથા સ્પેશ્યલ ઓપેરેશન ગ્રુપ (એસઓજી)ને પણ પેટ્રોલિંગની કામગીરીમાં જોડવામાં આવશે. કોરોનાના સંક્રમણને અટકાવવા અમદાવાદ શહેરના ક્લસ્ટર ક્વોરેન્ટાઈન વિસ્તારોમાં પોલીસ તંત્રની મદદથી આરોગ્ય વિભાગ દ્વારા લોકોના આરોગ્યની ચકાસણી વધુ સઘન બનાવાશે. આ માટે આરોગ્ય કર્મચારીઓની સુરક્ષા માટે પણ પૂરતો પોલીસ સ્ટાફ ફાળવવામાં આવ્યો હોવાનું તેમણે ઉમેર્યું હતું.
શ્રી ઝાએ ચિંતા વ્યક્ત કરી હતી કે, હજુ પણ લોકો સવારે વોકિંગ-જોગિંગના બહાને તથા સાંજે આવશ્યક ચીજવસ્તુઓ લેવાના બહાને બહાર નીકળી પડી સોશ્યિલ ડિસ્ટન્સીગનું ઉલ્લંઘન કરતા ધ્યાને આવી રહ્યાં છે. આ પ્રકારે હવેથી જો કોઈપણ નજરે ચડશે તો તેમની સામે ગુન્હો દાખલ થશે. વળી, આવશ્યક ચીજવસ્તુઓના નામે આ લોકડાઉનની વ્યવસ્થામાંથી મુક્તિ મેળવનારા લોકો પણ આ મુક્તિનો દુરુપયોગ કરતા સામે આવ્યા છે, તે ખુબ અનુચિત છે. આ પ્રકારે અમદાવાદના નરોડા પોલીસ મથકની હદમાં એક ખાનગી એમ્બ્યુલન્સ વાનની આડમાં દેશી દારૂની હેરાફેરીનો કિસ્સો સામે આવ્યો છે, જેની સામે અમે કડક કાર્યવાહી કરી છે.

આ સાથે પોલીસ કર્મચારીઓની આરોગ્ય ચકાસણી પણ કરવામાં આવી રહી છે. અત્યાર સુધીમાં એલઆરડી, જીઆરડી તથા પોલીસ સ્ટાફના આશરે 90,000 જવાનોના હેલ્થ ચેક-અપ થયા છે. ઘણા ખરા કિસ્સાઓમાં તેમને કોઈ ગંભીર બીમારીના લક્ષણ આવ્યા નથી. અમદાવાદ ”ડી” સ્ટાફના એક ASIને કૉરોના જેવા લક્ષણો દેખાતા હાલ અમદાવાદની એસવીપી હોસ્પિટલમાં સાવચેતીના પગલાંરૂપે ક્વોરેન્ટાઈન કરવામાં આવ્યા હોવાનો એકરાર શ્રી ઝાએ કર્યો હતો.
શ્રી ઝાએ ઉમેર્યું કે, શહેરો-નગરોમાં ડ્રોન સર્વેલન્સની કામગીરી સઘન બનાવવામાં આવી છે. જેમાં ડ્રોનના સર્વેલન્સથી 452 ગુનાઓ નોંધાયા છે. આ સર્વેલન્સથી આજદિન સુધીમાં 3017 ગુના દાખલ કરીને 7049 લોકોની અટકાયત કરાઈ છે. જ્યારે સ્માર્ટ સિટી અને વિશ્વાસ પ્રોજેક્ટ હેઠળ CCTV નેટવર્ક દ્વારા 61 ગુના નોંધીને 127 લોકોની અટકાયત કરતાં આજ સુધીમાં 460 ગુના નોંધી 909 લોકોની રાજ્યભરમાંથી અટકાયત કરાઈ છે.
