Gandhinagar, 9 February 2021
After wiping out the Congress in 8 metros from Gujarat, the BJP and the Sangh have now come up with a secret plan to erase it from districts, taluka panchayats and municipalities. The BJP has not given tickets to 60 percent of the people elected for it.
In Gujarat, elections have been held for 576 seats in six municipal corporations, 2088 seats in 56 municipal corporations, 988 seats in 31 district panchayats and 4778 seats in 231 taluka panchayats. There is a direct contest between BJP and Congress for a total of 8430 seats. The BJP aims to achieve 7500 seats but in view of the increasing discontent among senior party workers, party leaders in the region will know at the time of voting whether this target will be achieved.
In Gujarat, the BJP usually wins elections in urban areas and the Congress in rural areas, but this time the BJP has devised a strategy to capture most of the institutions in rural areas, so that it can have a big advantage in next year’s assembly elections. . The senior party leader said that the BJP has set a target of getting more than 150 seats in the assembly, so BJP’s victory in 80 percent of local body elections is important.
