Due to Corona, Gujarat Election Commission changed the counting process

The counting of votes for Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar municipal corporations has started from 23 February 2021.

The Gujarat Election Commission has started implementing Corona’s standard protocol from this morning. The counting of 6 metropolitan municipalities of Gujarat has started from 23rd February 2021 this morning.

The temperature of each person entering the polling station was measured with a thermal gun. Everyone is being repeatedly instructed to wear the mask at every stage of counting. Mouth and hand washing has been arranged. For this, soap and hand sanitizer have been provided.

In addition to more counting halls and tables, arrangements have been made to maintain social distance from vehicles. A maximum of seven tables are arranged in one hall.

If the party’s polling agent has fever or shows signs of corona, the political party may appoint another employee to replace the worker. Arrangements have been made at every place by the Election Commission so that the staff involved in the counting of votes can conduct a rapid test of the corona at the polling booth.

Employees are forced to wear gloves and face shields in addition to masks. Counting centers have already been exhausted. All materials used in the counting of votes have been cleaned.

After the counting of votes, arrangements have also been made to clean the EVMs and send them to the strong room.
