In Gujarat, the number of cars instead of two-wheelers is increasing. There is one car for every 30 people in Gujarat. There is one car per 5 family. There are more than 3.5 million cars. There are 1.95 crore two-wheelers. With the increase in income of the 6.50 cr people of Gujarat, families have become fond of two-wheelers as well as cars.
One out of every three people owns a bike or scooter. Scooter companies have stopped the production of gear vehicles.
The number of vehicles has increased by 140 percent in 10 years.
There are 3 million transport vehicles in Gujarat. The number of non-transport vehicles has increased to 2.10 crore.
Parking and traffic regulation problems have arisen.
27 million vehicles are racing on the roads. One in three people owned a vehicle.
In 1961, Gujarat had only 8132 two-wheelers. Which has increased to 1.95 crore in 2020.
The total number of vehicles in 1980 was 4.58 lakhs. In 1990 it increased to 18.40 lakhs. The biggest jump in vehicle purchases came in 2010 and the number of vehicles crossed 10 million.
In 1980, Gujarat had only 52817 registered cars. Today, the number of cars has crossed 3.5 million.
In 1990, 18.40 lakh vehicles were plying. It increased to 51.90 lakhs in the year 2000.
The number of autorickshaws has gone up to 90 thousand while the number of tractors has gone up to 82 thousand.
