There is no need to worry about the seeds of spice crops like cumin, coriander, fenugreek, fennel, suva, ajmo, black cumin in Gujarat. They will be able to get the seeds ordered online by paying online sitting at home. Being a government body, there is no scope for fraud in this.

Farmers living in the hinterland of the country will also be able to buy seeds digitally and grow seedless spice crops. App is available in 10 languages ​​along with Hindi, English, Gujarati.

The cultivation of spice crops is increasing in Gujarat, so farmers are constantly in search of high yielding varieties. It was 0.75 tonnes per hectare with a production of 2.14 lakh tonnes in 2.85 lakh hectares 20 years ago. Spices were being harvested. Now in 2020-21, 1.60 tonnes per hectare is produced in which 12 lakh tonnes is produced in 7.55 lakh hectares.

Productivity rose to 2.28 tonnes per hectare. After Modi’s visit to Delhi, the numbers declined and now the productivity is 1.60. So farmers are looking for new seeds, they can all line order.

Out of 109 spices by the International Organization for Standardization, India produces 63 spices due to its diverse agro-climatic zone. The dried seeds or fruits of which are used as a spice.

Seed spices account for 45 per cent of the country’s total spice production. The contribution of agriculture to the total production is 18 percent.

On the online portal, farmers can get seeds of seedless spice crops developed by National Center for Research on Seed Spices. Developed 26 varieties of 8 seed spice crops.

Cumin production is 3.37 lakh hectares and 4.80 lakh tonnes in the fields of 2 lakh farmers.

Fennel of 3.50 lakh farmers grows 1.10 lakh tonnes in 53 thousand hectares.

In the fields of 20 thousand farmers, 22 thousand tonnes of dry chilies are grown in 11 thousand hectares.

Grows 95 thousand tonnes of coriander in 85 thousand hectares in the fields of 1.60 lakh farmers.

Grows 1.13 lakh tonnes of ginger in 5 thousand hectares in the fields of 20 thousand farmers.

Turmeric grows 91,000 tonnes in 4600 hectares in the fields of 1.18 lakh farmers.

15 thousand tonnes of fenugreek is grown in 7500 hectares in the fields of 22 thousand farmers.

In the fields of 28 thousand farmers, 11 thousand tonnes of acacia is grown in 10 thousand hectares.

Ajmo grows 10 thousand tons in 10 thousand hectares in the fields of 30 thousand farmers.

Suva gives 20 thousand tonnes of yield in 15 thousand hectares in the fields of 45 thousand farmers.

Suva gives 21 thousand tonnes of yield in 15 thousand hectares in the fields of 45 thousand farmers.

Thus a total of about 10 lakh farmers take spices in 7.10 lakh hectares.

Garlic is also taken in this crop. Which gives a yield of 95 thousand tonnes in 1.21 lakh hectares.
